Payer Relations Coordinator

This position will support the Senior Director of Payer Relations in the day-to-day maintenance of health plan/payer contracts and establish and maintain relationships with both internal and external parties to help support daily operations of the organization.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Payer Relations coordinator supplies first-line response and support to health plan/payer clients and their contacts to assist in day to day activities required in order to maintain the successful operation of the health plan/payer contract.
  • Functions as a liaison between internal departments and health plan/payer clients to assist in resolving various issues that arise from time to time. Goal is to help health plan clients achieve satisfaction and act as a resource of support for all parties.
  • Responsible for organization and coordination of regular monthly/quarterly meetings with health plan/payers, preparing presentations, coordinating agendas, taking notes, and attendance, and any other duties to assist in facilitating these meetings.
  • Scheduling calls, as requested and needed, with internal departments and health plan/payers, as required.
  • Recording meeting minutes and attendance and distributing to internal and external stakeholders, as required.
  • Maintain knowledge of health plan/payer contracts and how organization interacts with each health plan/payer to act as a resource for both internal departments and health plan/payer clients.
  • Communicate issues and trends that may develop in order for organization to review for process improvement.
  • Provide support for special projects and reporting, as requested.
  • Assist in implementation process of new health plan/payers, including coordination with internal departments, participating in regular meetings as part of the implementation process, and creating and/or updating implementation plans associated with the project.
  • Support the Senior Director of Payer Relations with meeting deliverables and maintaining health plan/payer relationships.
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, other federal, state, and local standards, and company attendance policies and procedures.
  • Compliance with all personnel policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties and related essential duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Additional health care experience preferred.
